Pyroraptor package art plus final post card and stretch goal details!

A lot to update today as we go into the final stretch now.

Pyroraptor art

First, here is the package art and layout for the Pyroraptor olympius action figure, painted by Jonathan Kuo!

And as for add-ons- the campaign page will be updated soon with these three post card items:

Post card pack 1 will now include the Velociraptor o. art for no additional cost:

And although there is only one art piece currently, there will be an add-on for the Fans Choice raptor art (set of 4) by Sara Richard for $8:

Final stretch goal items

And as for the final stretch goals- I have decided to only do one more stretch goal but I think you all will like it. There will be baby raptors! I'm currently working on the concept images but I can tell you these details:

• There will be 3 packs of three figures (standing, running, and sitting).
• Each pack will feature a different color scheme- dark grey, light grey, and amber yellow
• The static figures will stand about 2" tall and have interchangeable head/neck parts (open mouth, closed mouth, turning head w/ partially open mouth)
• All three packs will be unlocked at once if we reach $335,000 (this is because of all of the new tooling involved)
• price per pack add-on will be $20US or $25 INT

As for the art book- I gave it a lot of thought and have decided not to do an art book at this time. I simply don't have a solid enough plan in place for that and if I do a book, I would want it to be done right with a high level of quality. I don't feel I can provide that right now and I also need to focus on making the raptor figures as good as they can be. But I do have interest and hope to get to it at some point later on.

And the mini-raptor pack may be something for later as well, but I just felt like it would take away too much from the appeal of the environment packs and might also seem redundant. Again, I may find a way to work this in later on when it seems more appropriate.

Saurian Kickstarter is now live

fro all of you dinosaur fans out there backing this project, I wanted to take this time to let you know (as if you didn't already) that the amazing Saurian video game Kickstarter campaign is live now as of yesterday afternoon! You can check it out here. I've been following progress on this for some time now and it looks very impressive and well thought out. Give it a look if you haven't already!

And one more thing that has com up recently is an apparent glitch with adjusting your pledge where people are being charged additional for shipping. I have addressed this in the comments section, but I wanted to let you all know that I have contacted Kickstarter about this and am waiting to hear back. I double checked everything on my end and as far as I can tell it's all correct. So please don't panic if you're having issues, I am confident that it will get sorted out.

Fan's Choice Dromaeosaurus (kestrel version) package art revealed- Introducing artist Sara Richard!

Today I'm very excited to present you all not only with the first look at the Fan's Choice raptor packaging, but also to introduce you to our latest artist contributor, Sara Richard! Sara began her career as a sculptor for Hasbro and worked on several toy lines including Jurassic Park. (Sadly, her amazing Carnotaurus and Stegosaurus have still yet to be released). During her time there she also established herself as an illustrator specializing in a variety of  pop-culture subject matter and of course dinosaurs! You can find out more about Sara and see her work here and you can see even more of her dinosaur illustrations here.

Now as I had mentioned previously in the comments, the main line of raptors consisting of 12 species, was designed and created by myself with beautiful package illustrations by Jonathan Kuo. However the Fan's Choice raptor set is something that has evolved from my interaction with you all and with all four figures now available, has become a set of it's own. To commemorate the collaboration between myself and the backers here who have helped bring Beasts of the Mesozoic to life, I wanted to bring in a fresh look for the packaging, while still keeping the overall layout the same. All four Fan's Choice raptors will feature art work by Sara Richard distinguishing it from the main line. So now I'd like to show you the package art, layout, and design for the very first Beasts of the Mesozic Fan's Choice raptor figure- Dromaeosaurus albertensis in the kestrel colors.

 So there's your first look at the Fan's Choice raptor packaging!

And no I haven't forgotten about the Pyroraptor and Linheraptor package art and designs. Those will be unveiled very soon.

Also, thank you all for reaching the Fans' Choice Zhenyuanlong raptor figure yesterday- now it's time to get those accessory packs! More on the next package art reveals and the final add-ons for the campaign tomorrow. :)

Beasts of the Mesozoic 2017 Calendar now available as an add-on item

I know a lot of you have been requesting larger prints of Joanthan Kuo's package art and I hope that you all will be pleased with this solution.

I have been wanting to do a calendar of these raptors since I began receiving Jonathan's art last year. Now I am happy to announce the 2017 Beasts of the Mesozoic official wall calendar! This is now available to be added to your existing pledge for $35. Each calendar will be high-quality full color, with 11"x17" vertical display and feature the raptor package art by Jonathan Kuo. Each of the twelve raptors will represent a different month.

I had initially estimated these to price at $25 each, but for what I wanted to do, it ended up costing me a little more than expected. It was a challenge to find a printing service that offered the specific format I was looking for, but thanks to https://www.bayphoto.com/ I will be able to offer a quality large print calendar without having to crop Jonathan's epic illustrations. I plan to begin shipping these out in September of this year. This item can be added to any pledge level now and shipping is included in the price. As with all of the add-ons, you will be able to select this as a reward with the BackerKit survey after the campaign. I plan to have one more update later tonight as we get our first look at the package art for the 'Fan's Choice' raptors for which we have a new artist on board! Plus, new post card art items will be added tonight as well.

New Zhenyuanlong Package Art

Today we take a look at Jonathan Kuo's beautiful package art for the Zhenyaunlong action figure- check it out!

So there you have the a look what's in store for the Zhenyuanlong figure. Although I haven't completed this prototype yet, I do anticipate it being one of the most desired raptors of the group and I'm glad we may be able to do a variant of it as well.

Mark Schultz's new double artbook Kickstarter

My good friend Mark Schultz, who was generous enough to provide the amazing 'Raptors at Dawn' limited print for my campaign here, currently has a campaign going of his own via Flesk Publications. The campaign is for two of his artbooks- Carbon 2 and Storms at Sea. The project has already doubled it's funding goal with 19 days still left to go and it's no wonder when you see the art that's being offered. I know there are a lot of fans here of his work and I wanted to pass this along in case you haven't seen it yet. You can view the campaign here.

In closing- I know a lot of you have been asking about me offering Jonathan Kuo's package art as larger art prints. Well tomorrow's update will be focusing on this as well as adding on the second set of art post cards.
